WIP and Life

OK, my life has changed in the last few weeks, I have not been working as much and have to go job hunting. I just don't know what I want to do, I was thinking of getting out of the restaurants and trying something different. I'm just not sure. All I know it that working 2 days a week, 12 hours, just DON'T pay the bills and feed my habits. Tony is still out of work but is getting some great job offers, he has one from Homestead Golf and Country Club in Lynden he will know sometime this week. He just returned from the Hotel Bellwether on Bellingham Bay they are looking for an Executive Chef, has a second interview tomorrow. So we will see what happens there.
As for me I'm just playing it by ear to see what happen with Tony and then I can go from there.

WIP
I just finished Micheal's X-box Socks, his name for them. I'm so very glad to have them out of my way. He has big feet, size 12, so it takes awhile to knit. They are a simple rib K2 P2 through the leg and plain stockinette stitch down the foot. Now that he has them on his big feet he wants more. I said, I would work on more but as an in between sock not a steady sock to be done asap. The next pair will be made with fewer stitches, this pair don't stay up, a little bit to big but Micheal doesn't know the different since all his socks sag.

I have started a pair of socks call "Nutkin" and am using Hazel Knits yarn "Chocolatier" I love this yarn. It is wonderful to knit with and the colors are very subtle, they blend so well together.
The pattern is very easy to memorize and looks great. This picture doesn't do the sock any justice. You can see the changes in the yarn but the pattern dosn't show as the sock gets longer, maybe I can get a better picture.

This month I have been busy knitting not so much with sock but I've been making fingerless gloves. I've made several pairs of Serpentine Mitts and a pair of Symmetrical Braided Gauntlets. The gauntlets, I used Debbie Bliss, cashmerino aron, I really enjoyed using this yarn it knits beautifully. The only problem I had with this pattern and not fault of the pattern but the knitters, the cable. For some reason on the last gauntlet I could not for the life of me keep my cables going the right way I must have frogged back several times and started over once. But I would make this pattern again it was fun and easy.

Death by Socks

This is the pair that killed me. They where made by Beth Braun from Seattle. She used Knit Picks Risata yarn in Cocoa. They are made of 42% cotton 39% superwash wool 13% polyamid & 6% elite. I have to admit they are not as warm as my wool socks but they keep my feet warm.

In today's mail I just received my order from Knit Picks some more needles I went to work on my Fake Isle hat and didn't have the right size circular needle no size 6 in a 16" so I had to buy, I also got a size 7 16" and dp 7. So I should be set in needle for a little while you never know. I'm always losing one or sitting on them and breaking one.

OK I've been bad I bought more yarn This is from fritzl@etsy.com
Its a PennyRose Yarns 75% superwash merino and 25% nylon called "Winter Love" I fell in love with this color when I seen it on her blog and had to have. Forgive me for my weakness. I must try harder to not crave more.
What they need to do it take the internet from me so I can't keep looking for more. I have found another dyer called SockPixie she as some beautiful yarns I am tempted. Her blog is sockpixie.blogspot.com if you are curious please take a look at her yarns I know that I will break down and buy.
My minds gone blank and I need to get back to my knitting, so keep those sticks a click'ng and have a great week.
