Today is my Birthday

Happy Birthday to me. Enough of that now.

I finished my Sock of Kindness today so that made me feel good. None of the yarn I ordered arrived today as planned I wanted present that I wanted not something I didn't want. Maybe tomorrow. With the Sock of Kindness done I have to come up with another sock to do. I'm going to work on two different sock at the same time that is not something I done. I am one of the weird people that to one project at a time and then start the next. So I'm going to try it can't say if it will work out. I have decided to make a pair of Monkey sock out of November, Yarn Pirates, Booty Club, Solstice, I love this yarn its so soft. The only thing I don't like is its BFL, just cause it splits easily. And the other project is called Wollmeise Sock by Monica Jines. You can down load it free from Loopy Ewe. I'm using Socks that Rock, Chapman Springs I like the colors. And it's out of my stash so that a good thing. Right.

For my birthday Tony got me some great flowers and taking me out to dinner. Christopher offered to take me out to dinner also but I turned him down and told him to buy a tool for school which he needs more, he taking auto body and doing great he love to work on cars. I'll have to take a picture of his truck and post if for everyone to see. I'm proud of him.

Well till next time keep the sticks clicking.

I really love this color and I like the yarn, it is SO soft. Georgia has out done herself with this yarn I don't see how she keeps coming up with the colors. I think I have the pattern and will be winding this up and casting on. I cant wait to see how it will turn out.

Here is a picture of the yarn that I won from October's sock Elegance. I got to choice from www.annidesign.etsy.com site. Anni has some wonderful yarns and you can get all the past patterns used for the Sockamania group, she has some great patterns. I cant get to the November pattern but if all works out and no one wants or needs a new pair of socks.

New Yarns and Sock Update

Here is a picture of my new yarns from Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock in Lightweight. The colors that I bought are (from left to right), Lucy, Panzanite, Pirates Booty, Oregon Red Clover Honey and Jingle Bell Rock. Oh the fun I will have with these new additions to the collection. I wanted to buy some of the new Raven collection that is out but I couldn't really decided with colorway I wanted and these colors I did want. So now to pick out the patterns to use, I have several in mind, will see how things go.

I also visited a LYS called Apple Yarns, I had just learned about it last week. But who should call me yesterday but Gena, my sister, she had just visited the store but didn't bother to call me till after she had already shopped. She let me know that they had Jitterbug so today after work I went and fondled yarn, they had a great sock yarn selection and then purchased Jitterbug, colorway Toscana 55. I don't know if I will be knitting it up right away or just putting it into the collection. I also found out that they have some great teachers and will be signing up for a private lesson on short row heels. I want to learn how to I understand the means of it, I'm just have trouble with the concept.

Here is an update on the sticks, I've got 1 sock done on the Sock of Kindness. This pattern is an easy one to learn and knits up fast. I have enjoyed doing this one and hopefully Kathi will like the sock also. I do enjoy knitting with Miss Babs yarn I have more in the collection and can't
wait to see what I can create with them.

Yarn Purchases

I now, that I've been bad but I do enjoy buying yarn, and so I have. I just wanted to show off my new purchases. I must admit I do love etsy to shop for all kinds of crafty items. Yarn is one of my weakness and I do love to feed it. I have several great buys.

One is from meliabella.etsy.com, she has some wonderful yarns. I bought Sugar Plum Fairies and Mint Chocolate Chip. Each yarn came with a stitch marker that goes with the yarn. Both yarns are so yummy. The yarns are 75% wool and 25% nylon and I can't wait to see how they will knit up. A great seller and a great find on etsy.

Also is a Beautiful yarn by stashupyarns.etsy.com "Stash Up Hand painted Yarns" colorway "Song To The Siren". It is a 50% Merino wool and 50% Tencel, this yarn feels so soft and I just can't wait to see how it knits up. I know that I'll buy more yarn from her.

I also purchased yarn from Bare Sheep Yarn Company on "eBay".
Colorway: Jenna, 100% Merino 560 yd. The colors are a soft pastels, yarn meant for a young girl. I'll come up with the right young person to give them too.

I have more yarns to come in. I told you I went on a shopping spree but it is November and its my birthday month and I LOVE to buy myself presents.

Sedona Socks

I started a new pair of socks, Sedona. It is a wonderful pattern and I am enjoying knitting it. The great part of this pattern is that the pattern called for Mama Llama's Bamboo Sock yarn the colorway used was Bella and I just happened to have this yarn in my stash. The yarn is 60/30/10 Merino/Bamboo/Nylon. The pattern is by Lisa Dykstra which you can purchase from here at ayenforyarn.bolgspot.com

I've been shopping

Yes, once again I've been shopping, figured after working over 100 hours in the last pay period I deserved to treat myself. I made several purchases. Here's what has come in so far. From Anna Hostetler at stuckinillinois.esty.com a great sock bag. I had a hard time deciding on which one to choice so I choose a pirate theme. I love the bag its a great size and is reversible. Also some yarn I won on eBay form Julia's Yarn Store, 2 skeins of yarn, Salvia 100% merino color 20 an avocado green, pale apricot and cream. Each skein is 50 grams can't wait to see how it knit up. I purchases a set of Knit Picks Harmony needles size 0 and 1.

the Little Can of Paint

I just had to share this it was an impulse buy but that's how I shop. I know its bad but sometimes I've just got to have it. I thought this was a great idea Yarn in a paint can from Lorna's Laces, a yarn I have wanted to try. I received it in the mail today, the paint can came with 2 skeins of yarn, a basic sock pattern and a set of needles No. 1 5.5" the color way "One of a Kind Dark". The can opens just like a paint can.

I made my purchase from theyarngrove.com. They have several different colors. Like I said it just a great idea and would make a great swap gift.

Sockamania Sock

One Sock done for Oct. Sockamania Sock they are due by Nov. 10, I just might make it. I'm using Lime & Violets yarn for their wool POrn shop, which I love. This is their Vampyra Sock yarn, colorway Chakotay, 100% merino. Using US 1 needles I really enjoy this pattern by Anni Design for Sockamania called Elegance. I love how the cable goes down the sides of the leg it is very simple but very elegant all at the same time. I should have the second sock done by the first of the next week.

Holloween Sunday Buffet

How did it turn out, fairly good. If I had had more time it would have been better but you can't always count on that. But over all I thing it went well. We had a good crowd for the buffet and they eat well. Here is a picture of my crew from left to right, the Good Witch Amanda, Fairy Princess Brittany, Sheriff Dale, The Nerd or Geek Linda and the Nun myself. The front desk also joined in and dressed up as 80's jazz er size student, Nicole and Jen. While their front desk manager Dana came as Austin Powers, yea baby. We all had a fun day its great to get out of your everyday work uniform.
