My Knitting

Here's what my sticks have been up to:

I made a reusable Swiffer Sheet. I found the pattern on Ravelry and thought I would give it a try. Besides I was out of swiffer sheets. The pattern is very easy, the most difficult part was the bobble which I had never done, the directions where well written and easy to make. The best part is that it works it picks up just like a swiffer sheet.

I finished The Revenge of the Mummy socks, I continued the pattern down through the foot of the sock so my mummies little toes would stay nicely wrapped and warm. Lulu the soon to be owner can't wait to get them. But she will have to wait, I have 20 more to go till Christmas for all the Gals I work with. The ones I know will be there have gotten their choice of yarns so its fun to see there faces as the socks grow.

I have started the next pair. They are NeverMore for Super Sock Scarefest. They are sock number 2 for the fest, #3 comes out the Sept. 21 and every 10 days. I'm not going for the prizes but just for the Knit Along and the way cool patterns. NeverMore is a toe-up with a short row heel. It was designed to bring to mind "The Birds" and "The Raven" or something angelic I don't know which is going to come about with my yarn choice but I like it so far. Angelica pick this yarn out its by Fannie's Fingering Weight colorway "Brambles". It is a fun colorway the only thing I would wish for is a little more black for a Raven color but I like it.

I have decided to learn how to spin I can't afford a spinning wheel but I can afford a spindle. I bought a bottom whorl spindle and trying to figure it all out. I'm getting it a little bit I need more practice. That's what I'm tell myself but I'm going to keep at it I just might surprise myself and get the hang of it. I have been reading up on the subject, "Spin it" making yarn from scratch by Lee Raven and also I'm using " Spindle Spinning" from novice to expert by Connie Delaney. But the old motto Try, try and try again. I'm going to keep at it.

The Inspection is over and we did great from what I hear I haven't heard what the score is. But we worked our butts off to make sure the rooms looked perfect.

I big thank you to all that posted a guess on my yarn contest. This was fun and I need to put out a large shout out to "wiknit the Knitting Contest Blog" for put my contest out there. here it is 305 I think I got it all. You never know I have it stashed all over so that way certain people don't know how much. My favorite dyers are and most of you got them right are: Hazel Knits, STR and SockPixie which no one guessed, if you have never knit with her yarns please check her out. She is an amazing dyer her colors are beautiful and the yarn flows through your fingers when you are knitting. She post new yarns every Sunday and they are gone by Tuesday

The Contest

Thank you for all the guess on my contest But here's a clue, guess high. No one has guess over the amount and the closes person doesn't even knit. I want to give away yarn and will give away to the three closes people without going over the amount. My cousin will still get a pair of socks no matter what. So keep guessing and next week I will give 3 lucky people yarn from my favorite dyers and probably my favorite skeins. (Maybe not my favorite but one of my favorite colors.)

Here's the Contest

I want to see who reads my blog so here's how I'm going to do it.

I have decided to have a contest to see how much yarn I have. I counted it something I never wanted to do . I only counted my sock yarn the rest has not been counted yet and has yet to be photographed. But I will before the contest is over.
Part 1: How much sock yarn do I have? Can you tell my favorite dyer?

OK this is my sock yarn I think I got it all. No guarantee but these are the skeins that I counted. So good luck.This Contest will go for the 2 weeks and then part 2 will begin and go for 2 weeks and then prizes will be given out.I don't know what they will be but I have lots of yarn to give away.

My Knitting

I finally finished my Slippery Slope Socks I think they took forever but I did do several pairs in between them. I'm not really happy about how they turned out, each sock is different. The only thing I can think that I did differently is my tension was different.

I have started knitting in the Super Sock Scarefest. We will get a new pattern every 10 days. So I have to knit a little bit longer and harder every day. This competition is based on points not how fast you have to be creative take good pictures. I just want to knit the socks. I am behind in my 52 pair plunge so I hope this will catch me up.

Will I better get knitting so keep those sticks aclickn'.
