I Played In My Yarn Stash

I had to share I played in my yarn yesterday. I thought about trying to get organized by I just had more fun fondling it. So I though I would share some pictures with you. I DID NOT count because then I would know how much I have and have to stop buying more if I don't know then I can just buy. As long as my family doesn't look at this post I'm OK other wise I'm definitely in the dog house.Just thought I would share a picture of two. Can you tell all the different dyers. It was fun looking at the pile. I have more of some and just 1 of others.
Thanks for looking. Maybe one day I'll share the rest of the stash this is only part of it.
So bye for now and Keep those sticks a clickn'.

Whats been up

What's been up has not been me. This new job, being a maid, is totally wearing me out, I come home dead tired wondering can I do it again tomorrow. I'm enjoying it so far its not a J O B but a job. I'm going to start working 5 days a week instead of just 4 and try to pick up 2 days a week in banquets. I know I'm being stupid and probably going to kill myself but I have to make ends met. Now that I'm not making the tips there is still a hole in my income.
I have also been conned into teaching a knitting class at the locale library on Monday nights from 6 to 7:30 pm. The first get together was this last Monday, everyone there knew a little bit about knitting and all I had to do was help out every so often, several of the ladies want to learn how to knit socks so I get to start them there. It should be fun.
Tony's job has been going great for him at Homestead Golf and Country Club. He has been booking lots of banquets and seems to be keeping himself busy.
Micheal has gotten a new job at Overhead Door. He has to take a drug test and get his driving record. He is happy, he feels like he is going to be part of the real world working Monday through Friday during the day instead of graveyard that he has been doing. He will have to learn to sleep at night instead of during the daylight hours.
Chris is doing his internship with No 1 Collision. He is sanding and doing prep work at the body shop and he is still at Wilson Motors painting and buffing bumpers. He seems to be enjoying it even if we don't see him at all.

Now for the knitting front.
I finally did finish my socks for round 3 of sock madness. Please for give the picture of the unfinished one but they are done I just have a few ends to weave in. I didn't make it into round 4 but I'm still happy with how far I got. I know that I can knit a pair of socks in 4 days if I have to.

I just got done knitting a test pattern for Anastasia and Kollage yarns. This pair of socks was knitted using Luscious Kollage yarns.
The fiber content is 63% cotton and 37% nylon elastic in Ice Blue. I can't say that I am fond of this yarn it splits terribly and there is not a lot of stretch in the yarn at all. Here is a better picture of the pattern it is called "Waving Rib Sock" a very easy pattern to memorize and an easy knit. I enjoyed this project and would love to knit for her again.

I got my Woolgirl order in today.
I finally got my hand on "Yarntini" I have been trying to get it for some time now and have been able to. I love how Jen wraps up her packages. It feels like a present even if you do know whats inside. And here is what was inside my presents.
I got 3 skeins of Yarntini, Pomtini, Appletini and 4-8-15-16-23-4-2, they are the numbers from Lost, the TV show.
I also added 2 skeins from Zen Garden Oregon Coast and Orchid Spider King. I can't wait to find the right patterns for each of these yarns or maybe I will just hide them away.
Well I guess I should be off to bed and get some sleep. So Keep those sticks aclickn'.
Happily knitting myself till next time.

Ruth: I just make it work sometimes I don't cook and have Tony take me out to dinner or I don't clean the house. I have to have my knitting time. That is me time and we all need that.

Sock Madness Round 3

Ready for round 3 the lace weight. I choose to use Yarn Chef from etsy's lace weight yarn. The colors are Pure Sunshine and Sambucus it reminds me of Gryffindor colors I didn't realize it until I had wound them and put the 4 cakes together. Can't wait to see the pattern and hopefully this will work out good. The pattern comes out in a few hours. I can't wait, I will have to knit most of the night but I'm game. I have to work through the weekend and its not a short day and lots of hard work. So I know I won't get a lot of knitting time in. Only the top 12, make it through to the next round.

I have two knitting projects going. One, for Micheal, Simple Cables, I have 1 done and have started the second one. I'm using Opal Uni in Royal Blue.
The second sock is Socks that Rock, Rocktober, Jaywalkers, I want to use this one for round two but couldn't get gauge so had to change yarn.
Well I have to finish my house work and laundry before the next round and I won't be doing anything but knitting. I have dinner cooking, my third load in the dryer and a load in the washer with one more to go. The kitchen to clean and I'm on the computer not wanting to do any thing but just relax before the craziness begins.
So have a good weekend I'll keep you all updated with picks on flickr so keep those sticks aclickn and bye for now.

Round 2 Sock Madness

This must be madness, round 2 started March 31, it was stated to start April 1, a day early. Not fair for me had to work double shift that day, making beds and then work a banquet. Worked all weekend and hadn't done my gauge and couldn't get gauge with the yarn I choose, STR Rocktober but I had started a sock toe up, with another yarn I wanted the practice, I knew I could get gauge, so I used it. Prairie Daisy Handspun "Bloom and Blossom" a very spring colored yarn.

Here is it with one sock done. Started it Tuesday after work, I got down to the heel didn't like, frogged, started it over, didn't like, frogged. Midnight gave up and went to bed. Wednesday started again at noon with the heel didn't like it again, by now I want to give up but I frogged and tried again. Googled garter short row and it helped and started over and it turned out I worked till 2 am and went to bed. Started today finished toe and began sock 2 I don't know if I like this pattern or not. I don't know about the garter stitch on the sole of the foot. Will work late tonight I want to get this sock done tomorrow. No one is home but me so no real distractions but myself, you'd think I could get lots done but I just can't concentrate. I have to work on Saturday and don't know when I will have time to work on it.

Well I have to get back to knitting my break is over. So keep those sticks a clickn. Bye.

Thanks Ruth: I need all the cheering on I can get this sock is not been easy for me. Going for the heel on the second sock at least I hope I don't have to rip it back.
